On 5 September 2024, SQL Projekt AG opened the doors to Business Integration Day 2024 at the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion in Dresden. Jens Gärtner (CFO) and Stefan Ehrlich (CEO) welcomed participants. The programme set the tone for the day with the motto:
“Digitalization. Digitalization! Digitalization???
Integration! Integration!! Integration!!!”
– a clear signal of how central interfaces and data flows have become to successful digital transformation.
From Standardization to Digitalization in Public Administration
The opening presentations highlighted the various aspects of business integration, ranging from standardizing machine data in mechanical engineering to centralized service portals in public administration and automation solutions powered by AI. Integration is the prerequisite for streamlining processes, eliminating silos, and enabling data-driven innovation. For public institutions and municipal companies in particular, the critical need for standardized, efficient data access became clear.
Data Governance as a Building Block for Successful Integration
In this context, Matthias Czerwonka (CEO of innoscale AG) demonstrated how data governance can be used as an add-on to TRANSCONNECT. Wherever data flows are created, rules, responsibilities, and quality assurance must also be established. For public administrations and municipal companies, this means connecting processes through interfaces and ensuring the reliability, management, and usability of the data itself.
DATAROCKET extends TRANSCONNECT by adding this crucial dimension of combining data integration with data quality. This enables the successful and sustainable operation of digital services and applications.
Exchange, Dialogue, and New Perspectives
In addition to the presentations, interactive formats such as the World Café and Fishbowl discussions offered a chance to discuss specific challenges and share ideas. We also had many engaging conversations with participants from public administration, municipal companies, and industry at the DATAROCKET booth.

Business Integration Day 2024 made one thing clear: Integration alone is not enough - it requires a solid data foundation.
